I am so excited to be one of four Chicago bloggers introducing Sine Qua Non Salon‘s Desperate Measures campaign! Sine Qua Non is one of my favorite salons here in Chicago so I jumped at the chance to participate and to spread the word to all of my friends and readers about their new monthly FREE MAKEOVER contest! SINE QUA NON SALON
I’ve now tried 4 different services at SQN. A haircut, makeup, big fluffy blowout (seen here), and a natural blowdry using the diffuser to bring out my curls. All were fantastic, and I love the variety that they’ve offered me with each visit. My hair is pretty versatile but also naturally curly and over-processed, so having a stylist who can work with its unique texture is pretty key when getting it cut and styled. When I wanted the shorter cut, she knew exactly where to remove weight in the back in order to coax out my curls. When we diffused it – there they were. I hadn’t seen them in months!
And when I came in for the photo shoot, I wanted a totally different look – luscious, volumnious waves. No problem for them – a blowout with a round brush plus some finger-teasing and hairspray did the trick to get me a big beautiful blowout. Oh – and the makeup – well what do you think? Hot pink lips and some shimmery shadow to go with my favorite outfit were the perfect choice!
In addition to the variety of services, I also love that they have a variety of locations here in Chicago – each with a different look and feel that matches it’s neighborhood. Many of their stylists work at a couple of their locations as well, so you can even schedule your appointment to fit where you’ll be that day. BEHIND THE SCENES
Not only did I get to spend the day with some amazing members of the Sine Qua Non team – including Laura Boton, the founder and owner who delivered my finishing touches herself – but I also got to meet and hang with three other amazing Chicago bloggers. Lindzi Shanks of The Trendy Sparrow, Julianne Lopez of Jules a la Mode, and Dani McGowan of Mermaid Waves. We had such a great time learning about the campaign, getting styled together and goofing off ‘backstage’. What an awesome day – here are some of the pics!
