LIFE LATELY – OCTOBER

Here we are! Month three of my monthly Life Lately series, sharing all the latest and greatest I’m exploring behind the scenes in Atlanta, at Home, with Beauty & Style, Blogging, Books, Music and…Life! Read on for October’s adventures!

STYLE – ROCKSBOX DOES IT AGAIN!

Yep, I’m still a Rocksbox #ItGirl for a few more months, which means I’ve had the privilege of trying the monthly jewelry rental subscription, posting about it (twice!), and sharing a discount code with my readers just as we head into the holiday season! That’s right, don’t forget to sign up for your first month free with my discount code: BELLEMEETSWORLDXOXO. You will love all the sparkle you can wear to holiday parties, or a loved one can enjoy this subscription as a gift! This month I was especially happy with my box. These earrings are such a gorgeous color (one of my favorites), and the statement necklace looks pretty great with sweaters, which is crucial for the pending winter. Want to learn even more about how Rocksbox works? Here’s a look at another set I loved, and check out this post here where I break it down. And this one here when I first tried it.

BEAUTY – NEW CLARINS SKINCARE!

It is no secret that I am a Clarins girl. I love their skincare, bodycare, makeup – all of it. These are some of the best-quality, well-priced products out there. And they’re French, so of course they are the best if they are coveted and followed religiously by French women! Two of the biggest product launches of the season for Clarins Skincare were these two products that I am OBSESSED with: the Clarins Energy Skin Booster and the Clarins Extra Firming Mask. The Booster is a little pick-me-up for your morning moisturizer. You add a couple drops, and it delivers highly-concentrated skin benefits. There are three types – Energy, Detox and Repair – to suit your skin. I chose the Energy booster to help fight fatigue and to boost radiance. As for the mask, it is my absolute favorite I’ve tried of all Clarins products. It is creamy and light and has a cooling factor. I leave it on for a long time because it feels like it blends right in. It’s divine – a bit of a splurge, but completely worth it.

HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS – MY FAVORITE!

Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year, and I love decorating my home and my pets in seasonal decorations! I’ve got a pretty massive collection of Halloween decor, and I buy one new thing every year to add to it. Having my house decorated for this holiday brings a little joy and levity to my surroundings every time I enter the house, which really contributes to making me feel happy when I am there. Do you have any home things that make you feel comfy and content? I’d love to hear them in the comments! Here’s a small peek at a couple decorations and at my pets, Bernie and Lola!

VOTING – DO IT!

I’m never political on my blog or my social media – it is not part of my brand – but I will certainly encourage everyone to vote, since it’s a big thing I did in life this week. We registered to vote in our new state and then found out that in Georgia you can vote early, so we did it to beat the crowds and to get it over with. It was so easy. If you’re here in ATL, I encourage you to do it! Or, if you aren’t in Georgia, find out if your state allows you to vote early and go! You won’t be sorry.

ATLANTA THEATRE – MOBY DICK & SLEEPY HOLLOW!

We are so lucky to have many friends in the theatre community all over the country. It has allowed us to experience a lot of different shows and to support the arts in all the places we live and visit. This month’s highlights were a trip to see the Lookingglass Theatre production of Moby Dick at the Alliance and The Sleepy Hollow Experience at Serenbe Playhouse. Lookingglass is my favorite theatre company from Chicago – I used to sit on their junior board – with a unique yet recognizable style that combines aerial arts, singing and amazing sets. They rarely disappoint me, and I was so thrilled to see one of their productions here in Atlanta, especially since we’ve been missing CHI friends lately. We got to see two of them in the show! There are still a few days left this week to see it – GO!!!

Our neighbors are actors in The Sleepy Hollow Experience, so it was such a treat to see them at this interactive, outdoor adventure – complete with a headless horseman. Serenbe is a self-sustained community with restaurants, a farm and a dedicated playhouse that creates outdoor performances all over the property. It’s a sight to be seen – so if you are in Atlanta, don’t miss catching a show there.

BLOGGING – POTTERY BARN + JUNK GYPSY EVENT

I was really psyched to be invited by Pottery Barn to attend an event last week to celebrate the launch of the Junk Gypsy book and their latest collection for PBTeen. Do you know about these two sisters, Amie and Jolie Sikes? They have two successful TV shows, this home decor and bedding line, and a store full of antiques and thrifted treasures that they use to design and display beautiful spaces and ideas for decorating your home on the cheap. Their latest accomplishment is the launch of their first book, and it is beautiful. I had a BLAST hanging out with them and a few other bloggers, asking them questions, perusing the book and checking out the collection at PBTeen. It was all so charming, and I love learning about new styles, aesthetics and people. Check them out!

What new thing have you discovered this month? Any worth sharing in the comments below? Until next month, Dear Readers – thank you for reading!

Thank you to Rocksbox, Pottery Barn and Clarins for sponsoring this post. While I have been compensated with products, all opinions are 100% my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Belle Meets World.
