BEAUTY MUST-HAVES

BEST (SUSTAINABLE) LEGGINGS EVER – GIRLFRIEND COLLECTIVE

I recently saw an ad on Facebook for Girlfriend Collective, boasting innovative leggings that only cost the price of shipping ($20). I was intrigued, clicked through and bought the product. It was a bit of an experiment to see if there was a catch or if they really were the best-fitting, sustainably- and ethically-made leggings out there. After all, they advertised the fact that Lulu Lemon alums were making them and refused to sacrifice quality, fit and the environment. Plus: $20. They were speaking my language. I also just received this sweater dress that would show my every bump and bulge if I didn’t find the right pair of body-flattering tights or leggings to wear underneath. In short, I am hooked on these Girlfriend Collective leggings and would encourage you to get in on this pre-order discounted action. Read on to learn more of the details…

This cost-of-shipping campaign was created to get the product out to people for as little as possible, and each pair is made-to-order. This means you’ll have to be patient for them to arrive about a month or so after paying your $20. When they did arrive I was psyched! The fabric is thick but breathable, doesn’t sheer (you know, when your leggings pull too much over your wide parts and people can see through to your butt) and really holds you in without feeling tight. There were seams in all the right places to hug in my jiggly bits, and my sweater dress (c/o TOBI) slipped right over them in just the way I wanted. In fact, they claim that the fabric warms and forms to your body so that they really do become a customized pair of pants for you alone.

As if the butt-hugging greatness wasn’t enough, each pair is made using 25 recycled water bottles in a SA8000-certified factory (this means it operates under UN human rights laws, accepts no child or forced labor, and provides living wages and safe conditions). So far, I have no cons to report, and I’m looking forward to wearing them to the gym once the weather cools off more here – they are quick-drying! This was definitely a $20-style-experiment gone right. Check them out and see for yourself at their website and on their Facebook page. Let me know if you end up trying them yourself!

Thank you to TOBI for providing this sweater dress to me. All opinions are 100% my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Belle Meets World.
