BEAUTY MUST-HAVES

SPRING CLEANING + GOAL SETTING

It’s the last day of March, y’all! I can’t believe we’re this far into 2017. And since I’m onto another month, that means I’m onto a new set of goals in April. I have a lot of things in mind that I’d like to focus on, but I think I’ve narrowed it down to a few realistic habits to form.

If you’ve been following along with my happiness project, here’s a little reminder of my previous goals that have slowly but surely become parts of my everyday life.

December: SLEEP

January: MEDITATION + EXERCISE

February: LIMIT ALCOHOL + FLOSS EVERYDAY

March: BLOG AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

Drum roll please…….next up will be…..

April: CLEAN + RELATIONSHIPS + FOOD

Purge & clean: it’s time to purge my closets (yes, plural – I have a few) and start fresh. I gotta breathe new life into my wardrobe and my style posts, so I’ll be featuring a lot of new looks. It’s also time to CLEAN the heck out of my house and my belongings. First on the list is all my makeup brushes. I’ll be the first to admit I NEVER do it and then I sit around wondering wear the zits are coming from…but I digress. If you take anything from this post it’s to wash your makeup brushes this weekend – DO IT!! I recommend either a spray-on cleanser, these new bar cleansers that come in a circular pot (you rub the brush on the soap, then on a silicone pad to pull the gunk out)or in a pinch , some eye makeup remover. I won’t spend more than $10 on brush cleanser and will usually go for generic Sephora brand or drugstore brands. And if you don’t want to buy anything fancy – use simple hand soap. Squirt, spray or mush in whatever product you choose all over the bristles and hairs, massage it in, then rinse really well. Here’s the most important thing: DRY THE BRUSHES FLAT!! If you dry them upright the fibers can eventually fall out. Bad. Don’t do that.

Deepen my closest relationships: Given how focused on changing and improving myself I’ve been, I’ve definitely neglected my people. Time to show them some love!

Focus on healthy food: Exercise and limited alcohol have really helped to start changing my body, but it’s time to change what I’m eating for the better. I’m in need of more energy + less bloat and jiggle. Me thinks some veggies are on the docket.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

P.s. How fun are these glittery Easter eggs? I’ve got them all over my house and they make me smile a lot! You can find them at Target!

P.p.s. This striped dress pic is my favorite from my recent Old Navy shoot. It wasn’t a featured cover photo, so I’m double-dipping and featuring it here. Hope you don’t mind!

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!
