BROOKLYN BRUNCH DATE AT BUTTER & SCOTCH

This weekend I was in New York and had brunch at Brooklyn’s latest hot spot, Butter & Scotch – it’s a bar and bakery with a sweet little menu with biscuits, cocktails and desserts. In fact, they’ve just been named ‘Best Birthday Cake in NYC’, and now I know why. It was truly the best cake I’ve ever had with the perfect icing to cake ratio (the most important ratio there is).

My favorite part of brunch though is dressing up – I think it’s the best part! This weekend was the perfect time to take my Victoria Beckham for Target collared dress out for a spin since it was a little chilly but still springy in NY. I paired it with a few of spring’s hottest trends – blush shoes, block heels and a pastel faux fur bag (love this one since I can’t find this Zara one online!).

The most fun part about this dress is the rabbits on the collar (oh and it’s now on sale founder $25!). I love this detail, and it makes me feel a little Alice in Wonderland. Or in this case, Elise in Brooklyn. I chose shoes with a glittery heel as a fun little surprise detail like the rabbits. These Unisa heels were only $40 at DSW! Plus, blush is the latest neutral for your footwear – every gal should snag a pair for the warmer months! The faux fur bag is a gem I scored Friday night at Zara for only $20. It’s my new favorite spring/summer accessory!

After brunch, my friend and I strolled around the neighborhood (Crown Heights and Prospect Park) and found all kinds of fun places to shoot like the Brooklyn Museum, Eastern Parkway, and a cute little park that needed a little lawn-mowing. It was a lovely afternoon adventure. Next time your in NY – head to that ‘hood for a relaxed and inspiring day. And definitely give brunch at Butter & Scotch a try. You won’t be sorry!
