BEAUTY MUST-HAVES

TALES FROM ATLANTA: HIGH TEA AT TIPPLE AND ROSE

This week while travelling to Atlanta I had the chance to attend High Tea at Tipple and Rose Tea Parlor and Apothecary in the Virginia Highlands area. It was such a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with girlfriends! I’ve tried high tea services at several different hotels and restaurants around the country, and I highly recommend this activity if you’re looking for fun ways to treat yourself or a loved one during the holiday season.  Our experience at Tipple and Rose was particularly special because this little tea parlor has a wonderful charm to it and is dedicated solely to the love of tea and local products. So lovely!

BEST YEAR-ROUND NAIL COLORS

If you’re like me, you get distracted and excited every season by all the new trends for nail colors. You run out to buy a bottle of the most amazing pool blue, use it once or twice and then throw it into the bucket of forgotten polishes, never to be used again. And while this is fun to do, what about those few dependable colors you can always rely on no matter what time of year, for any and every occasion? I’m talking work, play, holidays, the beach – you name it. Today, I’m sharing my best nail colors that work year round.

TALES FROM CHARLESTON: DIY BODY SCRUBS + WHOLE FOODS LADIES’ NIGHT

I’m in Charleston for the month of December this year, and I’m going to write up a few of my adventures because this is an extraordinary city full of wonderful people and things to do! One of those was a recent Ladies’ Night at Whole Foods where we sipped on bubbly and made DIY bath scrubs from ingredients you buy right there in the store – perfect for inexpensive holiday gifts. I also found a locally-made bath and body brand to try! Read on for details, pictures, links and recipes.

AIRLINE STYLE

When I travelled to France earlier this year, I remember being in the airport and thinking how disappointed I always am to see people in their worst state – decked out in pajamas in the name of comfort while flying (overrated). I am a firm believer that one should dress her best when travelling, but alas I am a party of one when it comes to this belief. Until that magical night in the international terminal security line when time stood still and in walked the Etihad Airways flight crew. I’ve never seen anything like it. Today let’s talk about airline style!

MONOCHROMATIC STYLE – INSTANT CHIC AND CONFIDENCE!

Monochromatic dressing is one of the best and easiest ways to look instantly chic and to exude confidence. Whenever I don’t know what to wear to a social event, or am feeling insecure about my body, or have an important presentation at work, I will don the same color from head to toe. It makes me feel put-together, slim and powerful. And anyone can do it! Read on for my tips on how to dress in monochromatic style.

BELLE HAS WRITER’S BLOCK – CAN YOU HELP?

Dear Readers! I need your help! I’ve been pulling my hair out trying to find topics to write about and I’m coming up empty-handed and uninspired. Do you have ideas for topics we can explore in the style, beauty, tips and tricks, body-positive, ad/or life arenas?
