I've gone on a 48-hour whirlwind NYC trip for work this week. Knowing I needed to pack lightly but wanted to dress stylishly while here, I picked one key piece that I could wear a couple different ways - for either a cramped plane or for a dinner with friends.
Well, I did it! I took the plunge and went back to dark hair for the changing seasons. But more importantly, I finally got the chance to wear this gorgeous skirt I snagged on Chic Wish for my cousin's wedding this weekend!
My final pleated trapeze dress - this time for fall with long sleeves and deep autumn colors - only $17 at my favorite re-sale shop, Crossroads Trading Co! This one doesn't spin like the others and it's more of a casual dinner look, but I can't wait to wear it into the winter months with tights and boots, too.
I purchased my second pleated trapeze dress the minute I saw it because of the color combination that works for both summer and fall. I've been able to wear it through both seasons, especially for weddings!
Pleated trapeze dresses are among my favorite pieces of clothing. The shape is flowy and feminine, yet also forgiving on ones curves. Plus you can spin around and feel like you're five when you wear one! I love them so much in fact that I have 3 of them, which I'll highlight over the next few posts.
And....I'll wrap up the summer retrospective with a sampling of some of my corporate style looks from the summer. I have a lot less corporate wear than I do casual or weekend wear, so you'll see a lot of the same staple pieces. I just changed the focal point, depending on the day.
