BEAUTY MUST-HAVES

SPRING SHADE TREND – BLUSH AND NUDE

Blush trend on belle meets world blog

They’re everywhere! Blush and nude. I mean, they are basically the same color so I paired two pieces together from each shade and made a fancy dress look out of it! I’ve discovered the key to pulling off this color when you are very pale is dark accents, like these deep brown sandals, belt and sunglasses. They break up the monotony and help to call attention to good parts – like your face, waist and legs!

I purchased these items separately at consignment shops – the blush top at Wasteland LA (my favorite resale shop in LA), and the nude skirt at Second Time Around (my favorite resale shop in the Midwest). Each piece can be a little bulky, so I knew I’d need to belt them with a darker color to create a slimmer silhouette (belt: Club Monaco). The matching brown shoes and sunnies created the bookends I like to have in each of my outfits to pull together the look. The headband was something I pulled from my collection as a maybe – I thought the outfit could stand alone without it. But when I put it on, I liked that it added a little formal flair to the outfit – making it perfect for a date night.

BACK AND SIDE VIEW

My favorite thing about this top is the gold buttons that hold the fabric panels together at the back and the sleeves. I love that there are flashes of skin on an otherwise full-coverage outfit. Plus, the gold buttons match the gold hardware on the shoes and belt.

DETAILS – HAIRBAND & SUNNIES:

This headband is by my dear friend Emily, owner and designer of E. Kammery Accessories, and the sunglasses I picked up on a vacation at LOFT when I found myself without shades by accident. They were an emergency purchase, but I love the shape and they’ve proved to be a great set of travel sunnies when I don’t want to bring my nice ones.

HOW TO INCORPORATE THESE COLORS INTO YOUR WARDROBE THIS SEASON

Unless you have tops and bottoms on hand like I did, don’t go out and buy pieces in these colors. They are really difficult to wear for most skin tones in such large swathes. Instead, I recommend buying your spring and summer accessories in blush and nude – like a pair of killer sunglasses, or some bangles and matching earrings, or a classy handbag. They’ll be flirtatious, on trend and will match pretty much everything in your closet! Below are my recommendations:
