BLACK TIE WEDDING IN FRANCE - Belle Meets World

My recent trip to France culminated in a black-tie wedding at a chateau outside of Paris – it was amazing! And I got to wear this most beautiful dress from NewYorkDress.com that totally fulfilled my all my wildest dreams of an old Hollywood glamour look – complete with vintage rhinestone earrings, red lips and side-swept curls. There aren’t many words to describe the beauty and great friends I encountered along the way on this adventure, so I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves (mostly) on this post!

THE DRESS

Isn’t it just the most lovely dress ever?! I had so much fun picking it out with the very helpful sales team at NewYorkDress.com – so many options and such amazing customer service. I highly encourage you to give this retailer a chance if you’re looking for event attire.

As for the hair, I curled the entire head with a 3/4″ curling iron and pulled it into a side ponytail. I chose a deep red lip to match the dress, and these vintage earrings – I finally got to wear them – I inherited from my aunt.

A quick note on black tie weddings and the appropriate attire: the term ‘black tie’ can be applied for weddings taking place from 6pm onward, and the standard attire for a woman is a floor-length gown – even if there is still plenty of daylight. An exception to this might be an extremely formal tea-length dress, but I would always err on the side of gown.

THE WEDDING

The wedding was a 4-day affair in Vallery, a town 90 minutes outside of Paris at the Chateau Conde. The bride wore Marchesa with a million layers of tulle, and the single ladies went BANANAS for the bouquet. The whole shebang ended with a fireworks display, dancing and of course, plenty of champagne!
