BEAUTY MUST-HAVES

Black (& White) Tie – Workwear

Sure it’s the weekend, but yesterday’s work outfit was worth writing about today while I’m still on a black and white + bows kick! Plus, this top is another killer Altuzarra for Target piece I scored.

WHAT I WORE:

WHY I WORE IT:

This outfit happened by accident. I didn’t know what to wear yesterday and tried a million things on before landing on this look.

  • I grabbed this shirt first because it’s new, so I was feeling excited about it. And as I said in yesterday’s White (&Black) post, I’m in a bow obsession at the moment – so this top was perfect for my mood.
  • Next time I will wear a black tank under this top so that it appears more opaque, but I only had a white one clean yesterday, so it had to do!
  • One can never have too many black skirts (I own at least 5 different ones!), but since I’d worn 2 others this week, I went for this flared number with sparkly brocaded designs. I thought it matched the femininity of the big bow.
  • The top is a little blousey so I wanted a belt to bring the line inward at my narrowest part. My eyes went to the rhinestone belt to pick up the sparkle that was already in my chosen skirt.
  • The sparkles on the belt and skirt inspired my jewelry choices – I grabbed all the crystal pieces I have, and the silver cuff as well since I lean more towards silver when I’m wearing black and white.
  • I stuck with simple black sandals that were just feminine enough without drawing attention away from the main pieces of the outfit.
  • This vintage handbag is my current favorite. I love how structured it is while the patent leather adds femininity to it.
  • I threw my hair partially up because it wasn’t quite dry yet and I didn’t like how it was laying. Plus, I wanted to open up my face and neck area so that you could really focus on the bow.
  • The finishing touch? Red lipstick to go with my red ring of course!
