Lucky me! I got to meet, celebrate and chat with blogger, Laurie Leopold this week. She’s the brains and beauty behind Chicago’s very own 312Beauty blog that recently re-launched with a gorgeous new site by White Oak Creative. I sat down with Laurie to ask her all about her beauty adventures & style preferences (and I even won a raffle prize!).
312Beauty is all about discovering local products and companies who are making and doing amazing things, right here in Chicago. It’s about exploring environmentally friendly and organic skincare and makeup. And it’s about embracing your femininity to boldly go where we women should go! I’ve got to meet Laurie’s photographer (Lindsay Humes of White Oak Creative)! I love this shot because it sums up Laurie’s style so well. When we were chatting this week, I asked her about her thoughts on style and her favorite look. Laurie is all about the neutral palette – blacks, grays, whites. Her favorite outfit is an oversized gray t-shirt, skinny jeans and boots. I love that she has a signature uniform and knows her style and what she likes best on herself. Her favorite shop for basics here in Chicago is Penelope’s – they have an awesome basics bar that she loves to frequent. Guess, I know where I’ll be shopping this weekend!
As for Laurie’s favorite accessories and beauty brands, she’s a huge fan of Michelle Starbuck Designs for necklaces and earrings, and La Bella Figura for make-up – both based in Chicago. And of course, don’t forget NARS. Who could forget NARS?! Also a favorite of Laurie’s (and mine!)
312Beauty.com RELAUNCH PARTY AT DIPTYQUE PARIS
I met Laurie and a whole lot of wonderful and welcoming bloggers at an event to celebrate the re-launch of 312Beauty. It was held at Diptyque Paris, home of the best-smelling (and -selling) candles and perfumes, coveted by bloggers and homemakers alike.
And get this, there was a raffle to win this gorgeous mini-candle set, and I won! Now my house smells like a winter wonderland, just in time for Thanksgiving – which I’m hosting at home this year!

I can’t say enough about how thrilled I am to have found the Windy City Blogger Collective. In just a few short weeks, I’ve met several new friends and bloggers I admire and have had the opportunity to attend events and participate in all kinds of opportunities that will help me grow my blog.
