Happy Friday everyone! Lately I’ve been giving a lot of thought to all the little hacks we can do to make life easier. The day-to-day and week-to-week grind can really start to pile up and make you feel like you’ll never complete your to-do list.
Today I’m sharing a few of the things I’ve found that are helping me get one step closer to feeling on top of it. Some require a little extra cash and others require a little extra thought or effort. But hear me out!
1.Finance: Equifax Hack Advice – so yes the Equifax hack makes life extremely difficult, for many years to come. Knowing where to start and what to do has been tough because there are so many different types of info out there but it’s really important that we all pay attention to this and do what we can to protect ourselves. My friend Chelsea wrote this really helpful article on her blog that I thought I’d share because it streamlined the list of to-dos and presented the info in a simple and understandable way. Thanks for writing this, Chelsea!
2.Hair: Blo Blowdry Bar – I have definitely been pushing myself to wear my curly hair more often but even though it’s my ‘natural’ style, it takes A LOT of work to get it to look half-way presentable. Some weeks, I simply need it taken care of so I don’t have to think about it at all, and those are the weeks I’ll pay the money to have someone else style it for me. A great blow out can last 3 or more days with a hefty dose of dry shampoo and a great shower cap. Blo Ponce just opened near my house here in Atlanta, and I had a fabulous experience there. Much more personable and personalized than I’ve had at Dry Bar, actually. These pics are from day 3 and still looks amazing and has tons of body.
3.Beauty: Long-Lasting Liquid to Matte Lipstick – My new lipstick obsession is these matte lipsticks by ReeDawn Rose Beauty. They go on and stay on all day, so I don’t have to worry about my lipstick. I think I reapply once during the day after eating lunch. The Flirt and Berry Berry colors are the perfect everyday goes-with-everything colors. And the Cherry is fun for a pop of color on date night! Also, a lot of mattes dry out your lips but I haven’t experienced that with this line, so that’s why I really really really love it. Thanks for making such a great product, ReeDawn! P.s. I can’t stop gushing about ReeDawn’s lash extensions – both on Instagram and in my recent wedding post. Brides! Get lash extensions! Atlanta brides! Get them from ReeDawn!
4.Book: Daily Rituals – How Artists Work by Mason Curry – My sister gave this to Evan for his birthday and I quickly snatched it off his nightstand to read! The book is all about routine and using it to make the most of limited time, particularly in the context of creative undertakings – think writers, bloggers, composers, artists, scientists, etc. I think it could be inspiring and helpful to everyone, though, because we all struggle with getting everything we want to do done each day. If the book is good enough, I may use it as my first experimental book review post – stay tuned.
5.Food: Hello Fresh Meal Delivery – we just started Hello Fresh this week. We’ve tried several different services, and I’ve yet to decide whether this one is better than any other but what I love about all of them is that they take all other deciding off my plate. The number one time suck for us at mealtime is choosing what to eat. The last thing I want to do when I walk in the door after work is think about what’s for dinner. And forget it if we then have to go to the store. And planning meals out in advance just isn’t gonna happen. Try this code to get $40 off your first box!
Other Life Hacks I’m Looking For:
A mail sorting system. Anyone have anything that works for them? Snail mail is the bane of our existence, and most of it needs to go in a shredder, anyway. We let it pile and pile and pile but if we had an easier system of sorting, I think we’d be more dedicated to doing something about it. SEND HELP! I’d love your thoughts on what to do!
