One of my favorite trends this season is the ruffle one shoulder top. Tuck it into tailored pants for a polished look or throw on some jeans and wear it loose for a sassy and casual date night style. It’s a summer wardrobe essential! And nothing makes me feel so ready for summer as the perfect warm weather outfit I tell you.
If you’re going for the ruffle one shoulder top trend, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got a great strapless bra on hand, and make sure the top fits you well around the midline. The last thing you want is to be tugging at it all day – people will notice!
Another trend I’m always game for? Sailor pants. Remember just this fall I was begging you to wear them (read the post here)?? You might be wondering what I’m thinking wearing horizontal-striped pants!! Don’t I always preach that stripes can make you look wider? Why would I ever put them on my widest parts then?! Well, in this case, they are cut perfectly! These JCrew sailor pants are rockin my world with a very tailored waist that draws your eyes into my narrower waist. Pair them with a wedge to add height, and they are a-ok for a curvy gal in my book. The front flap flattens my tummy bulge and the lace up back is a fabulous little style element that actually cinches the pants tighter. I love them!
The wedges are a super fun surprise from Evan! When he goes to visit his mom in Virginia, they go shopping at this amazing shoe liquidator and he’ll always find me something fabulous. These navy striped Nine West espadrille wedges are going to match pretty much everything in my closet this season. I wear a lot of blue!
And finally, these pics are taken on our rooftop! We caught the last hour of daylight tonight, and it was really peaceful and lovely up there. I love spending time here during the summer because the city skyline is so lovely and it’s quiet and calm. Everyone in the building brings their wine up to chill in the evenings. It’s great.
