BEAUTY MUST-HAVES

MY FAVORITE RED LIPSTICKS

Red lipstick is the ultimate in makeup power plays. Whenever I put on red lipstick I feel like a badass, channeling my inner Gwen Stefani or Hollywood glamour girl. And when I’m feeling sad, depressed or have a bad day, I find myself heading to the vanity and putting on a coat of my favorite red lipstick – almost without even thinking about it. It’s an instant pick-me-up and helps me gather my strength and regain control. And when I see another woman wearing it, I admire her for her boldness and respect her choice to let her lady-flag fly. Today, I’m sharing my favorites with you. Read on for the best red lipsticks, according to MOI!

DECODING ALL THE CURLING IRONS – THERE ARE SO MANY!

There are a ton of different options out there these days for curling and waving your hair, and if you’re not overly-obsessed with hair and makeup like me, figuring out the right wand or iron isn’t that easy or intuitive. Tapered or straight-barelled? Clamped or wand? 1/2″ or 1″ or 1.5″? It’s so confusing! Today I’m sharing my three favorite types and breaking down what each one does so that you don’t have to spend money on a bunch of different things.

FACE CLEANSING HACKS FOR YOUR INNER LAZY GAL

Let’s face it, I can spend hours telling you about my 10-step South Korean skincare routine that takes me a total of 20 minutes per day plus all the other 30 cleansers and creams I slather all over my face, neck, décolletage, hands, body, and feet on any other given day to keep it youthful, clear-pored and (somewhat) acne-free. Some of the lengths I’ll go to and money I’ll spend is silly. But I love it, so it’s okay! But what most of you may really want to know is how to keep your skin clean with minimal effort and time spent. I don’t blame you! So let’s discuss because I’ve got several recommendations for you today. And confession – I’ve been so lazy myself lately that I am full-on using these options at least twice per week!

SUMMER TO FALL MAKEUP ROUTINE

I get a lot of questions about my makeup routine and the products I love, so I thought I’d empty my makeup bag into one post to show you what look I’ve been rocking at the end of summer that I’ll be taking well into fall. From the summer, I’m keeping a peachy blush and a bronzer. To add in something new for the fall season, I’m mixing in a plum lipstick and darker shadow and eyeliner. Read on for my product list and new additions to my routine, as well as order of application and advice!

PERFECTING BATH TIME

I’ve been working really hard lately to decrease stress, and taking a bath has become one of my go-to treats for relaxation and alone time – especially now that we have our own place with TWO bathtubs! The key to perfecting bath time is the right ambience and activities, so I always take a few minutes to prepare for it. Read on to make the most of yours. You deserve it!

RECENT DRUGSTORE BEAUTY FINDS

I’m an equal-opportunity beauty junkie. I’ll buy products from all over – be it Sephora or Target – and while I love the personalized department store experience the most, I prefer the price tag of the drugstore, hands down. I bet you do, too! This month I’ve found four products – one makeup, one skin, one hair and one body – under $30 each  that I am loving. All were purchased from either CVS, Target or Walgreens. Read on to learn all about them!
