I must tell you about a polish brand I’ve discovered. They aren’t new to the world, but they are new to me, and I am in love. Olive and June polishes and tools are downright miracles if you are doing your manicure at home right now. I am not brave enough to venture to nail salons yet with the pandemic, so I went looking for an at-home solution and found Olive and June.

OLIVE & JUNE POLISHES

The polishes are vegan, cruelty-free and 7-free, which means they do not have the seven harmful chemicals that many nail polishes have: dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, ethyl tosylamide, or xylene. So far, I have had very few chips and have been really impressed with how long the mani lasts – one full week. Plus, they offer really great colors.

THE POPPY

The Poppy is the real crown jewel of Olive and June’s products and is the key to your perfect manicure at home. This little rubber cap fits on top of narrow bottle tops. It provides you extra surface area and leverage when you are painting your nails, which is especially helpful when painting with your non-dominant hand. It’s brilliant and only $16. If you’re not in a place to buy a ton of new polish, just buy this! I think it’ll fit on Essie bottles, as well.

THE STUDIO BOX

Since I’m a shopaholic, I went all in on purchasing The Studio Box. It comes with all the tools you need (nail polish remover pot, file, buffer, nail brush to fix mistakes, Poppy, top coat and one polish color). The price was ~$50, and I found a discount code for 10% off: Welcome10. I hope it works for you. They have a few other mani kits you can purchase depending on your budget and needs.

THE TUTORIALS

They have super-brief videos that show you tips for how to paint your best manicure at home, including thoroughly cleaning the nails and NOT cutting your cuticles. If you’re more of a pro, they also offer advanced webinars. Since taking their advice, I have experienced longer-lasting manis with very few chips. Finally.

THE SUMMER COLLECTION

After I bought The Studio Box and did my first manicure, I was hooked, so I immediately bought the whole summer collection: The Into You Set. It costs about ~$64 (I was able to use the 10% discount code again with a  new email address!) and comes with seven brightly-colored polishes and a top coat.

To say I’m obsessed would be an under-statement. This post is not sponsored. I just REALLY love the product and think you will too! The last time I wrote about nails, I was really into the Essie. You can read that here, but I’ve gotta say, I like Olive and June for my at home manicure WAY better.

Happy Mani!
