BEAUTY MUST-HAVES

HOW TO SET UP WEDDING PINTEREST BOARDS

Hi everyone! Now that I’ve set a wedding date, I’m going to start some wedding posts and see how it goes. The first thing I did after letting the excitement on my engagement settle was to set up a number of Pinterest boards for each of the typical wedding planning categories. What was really cool to see was how it helped shape the vision for what we wanted – it actually changed a few times until we finally settled on something that now feels exactly US. I recommend doing something similar if you’re starting out on this crazy journey called planning a wedding. Small or large, there’s a lot to cover and think about so Pinterest is a beautiful and visual place to begin.

CHANGING MY LIFE

2017 has been a major year for me so far. Sure we’re only three months in, but I have been deeply focused on changing my life. And not just in a New Years Resolutions that you never keep kind of way. I’m talking about a balls-out, admit to the dark and unhealthy paths I was very far down, and then do something about it no matter the cost, kind of way. It’s been the slowest, most painful, most spiritual, most honest, most deliberate, and most rewarding time of my life. My only regret is that I didn’t start sooner. But even when you are your own worst critic, you aren’t always able to admit your worst flaws.

AT LEAST THERE’S HELLO KITTY

The original title of this post was, The Real World is Bleak. At Least There’s Hello Kitty but that seemed a little morbid so I cut it down a bit – but the sentiment is still there. This weekend I did the unthinkable – spent two hours in line to spend $50 on cookies and merchandise covered in a cartoon cat. That’s right, the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck made its way to Atlanta, and it was a divine break from the headlines and news and reality and screaming on Facebook. Sometimes it’s the fun little things that are worth indulging in to bring a little sunshine to your day.

A GREAT APP FOR TRACKING YOUR CYCLE

Hey girls! As a quick little follow up to yesterday’s THINX period panties post (which did really well, by the way, I guess everyone has been curious), I wanted to share an app that I’ve been using lately to get to know my body and its cycle better. I never used to pay attention to this or care much but something in me clicked this year (perhaps it was my bio-clock kicking in, or perhaps it’s the political threats to my right to choose what the hell I do with it, ahem) that made me want to take ownership of my body’s functions.

THINX REVIEW – THE PERIOD PANTIES THAT YOU SHOULD TRY

Oh why the heck not?! We’re all girls here, aren’t we? So let’s talk about menstruation and the latest and greatest way to handle your monthly visitor. Like any bleeding lady would be, I was extremely skeptical about THINX. No pads? No tampons? No cups? Just panties? This can’t be real. But it’s real! In short, I am a convert to THINX. In long, there are things you should know about these before you buy. Read on for my full review – the good, the bad and the bloody – of these revolutionary period panties.

LIFE LATELY IN ATLANTA

Happiest of Fridays, Dear Readers. It’s been a while since I’ve done a Life Lately post so I think it’s about time to sum up my recent days in a series of fun pictures and stories! This’ll be a short and sweet one. I’m starting it out with a picture of a genuine smile because sometimes I think it’s important just to look in the mirror (or the camera) and just give yourself some positive reinforcement. Wherever you are today, friend, you’re doing a-okay in my book.
