BEAUTY MUST-HAVES

FLORAL PANTS FOR CURVY BODIES

Ah the patterned pant. I’ve had such mixed feelings about it’s comeback because they don’t do a whole lot to flatter the figure, especially when you’re curvier on the bottom like I am. Instead they can make you look wider. The eyes of onlookers are swimming in a sea of prints and colors searching for the outline of your body and just can’t find it. Blech. But I started to buy into this trend when I found a cut and type of pattern that I think can work.

GINGHAM IN CHARLESTON

Happy Thursday from Charleston! We are visiting town this week and enjoying some pretty amazing weather – as in no humidity so my hair is staying a normal size. I love shooting here because the scenery is so charming with so many cute alleyways and winding streets. It’s the perfect place to test out all of my new spring and summer looks! I’m crushing pretty hard on gingham right now, so prepare to see it in a lot of upcoming posts.

VICTORIA BECKHAM FOR TARGET

So what do you think of the Victoria Beckham for Target collection?! Some of it I love, and some of it I don’t love, but I definitely felt lucky to get my grubby little paws on a few pieces this weekend when it hit stores on Saturday! My favorite piece of all the loot I scored (it’s a crazy story how I got it! More on that in the post) is this amazing callalily black dress with the little flounce. It’s punky, feminine, unique, forgiving and uber-comfortable. I always like to get in on the special collection action at target because the designs are pretty well-tailored and of-the-moment with a great price tag. Plus Beckham’s signature flair is all over these pieces so a lot of them look higher end in my opinion.

5 SPRING MUST-HAVES

One of the most important things to me style-wise as the seasons change each year is having my spring wardrobe essentials purchased and planned. The weather can change to warm quickly here in the south, so I like to be ready. Who am I kidding? I also like to shop so any excuse will do. The good news is that most things you buy for spring, will last you through summer and into early fall here. If you drop a little cash up front on the right must-haves, you can look great for a good five months! That’s pretty economical if I do say so myself.

PINK IS A NEUTRAL FOR YOUR LIPS!

Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend – I spent mine researching and playing with new beauty products, per usual. My fave thing is definitely a sweet little pink lip for spring and summer. One shade deeper and you get mauve, one shade lighter and you get nude – so I’m loving the whole spectrum! What I love about all the options is that they are just soft enough to be neutrals and go with everything but give you a nice little touch of color for the warmer months.

THE EASIEST GO-TO WEEKEND OUTFIT

Happy Thursday! Anybody else feel like Friday can’t come fast enough??? Very ready for the weekend over here. Partially because I’ve found my new go-to weekend look and I can’t wait to wear it again (seriously, I look forward to days because of what I get to wear – totally normal, I swear). Here it is: A pair of white sneakers. A pair of white jeans. A striped tee with a sweet little detail. A simple tote. A pair of fabulous sunglasses. A silk scarf. A leather jacket. A pair of gold hoops. Et voila! The easiest weekend look ever. See? That really was easy!
