TALES FROM THE ROAD: ON TOUR WITH JUMP, LITTLE CHILDREN

This December I had the opportunity of a lifetime: to go on tour with my favorite band – Jump, Little Children. Now it just so happens, my fiance Evan is IN my favorite band so that would explain why I was presented with said opportunity, but also, they’d decided to reunite after 10 years of being apart. It was bound to be an adventure, and adventure it was – including moving to Charleston for a month, styling the band, riding on a tour bus across the Southeast, getting engaged and watching a community of individuals come together in one big cloud of love, nostalgia, frenzy, and song – all in the name of Jump, Little Children.

THINNING HAIR SOLUTIONS

So this is an embarrassing topic, but we are going there today because it’s something we women face as we get older. If we don’t talk about it, how are we going to know how to deal with it?! A good friend recently took a few photographs of me and my fiance and because I am my own worst critic, all I could focus on in these amazing shots was a patch of thinning hair above my right temple where my part begins. “WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!?!,” I screamed when I first saw the picture. I immediately sprang into action to learn what I could and then do something about it.

TRENDS AT WORK – SHOULD YOU OR SHOULDN’T YOU?

On my recent business trip to New York, I conducted a style experiment by wearing a jumpsuit to work. I wanted to see if I could pull off this uber-trend in my uber-corporate environment. Plus, I had a drinks date with another blogger that night, so I needed a stylish look that would translate quickly and easily from office to bar. I think it worked in this case, but ultimately my advice to you if you want to go trendy at work is – know your audience, use your judgment and adapt the trend to mimic your work-appropriate wardrobe.

NEW BEAUTY PRODUCTS – THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE WTF?!

The best part about a blogger event is the goodie bag – that’s where I find all the latest and greatest new things to try and learn about. Sometimes I even get things sent to me in the mail to try – what a treat! In one of these fun bundles of joy I opened recently, I stumbled across a new beauty product so disturbing that I had to try it and write about it  – that’s the WTF?! of this post. I’ve also tried a few new products that I absolutely loved (‘the good’) and one that was rather disappointing (the bad). Let’s talk about them today!

BELLE MEETS WORLD + GAP FACTORY = A DENIM MIRACLE

Sure it’s 90 degrees outside and still officially summer, but I can’t stop daydreaming about fall colors and all the looks I want to try when the weather starts to turn. Among these is the boyfriend jean, a trend that had eluded me (and my hips) until working on this post, and here’s why – I kept trying to actually wear my boyfriend’s jeans. But bulky and loose does not a cute outfit make! Fortunately, I’ve experience a denim miracle thanks to GAP Factory and I need to tell you about it – ASAP.
