BEAUTY MUST-HAVES

WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THE PEPLUM TOPS YOU BOUGHT

I bought FIVE peplum tops over the last couple seasons. How about you? I admit I was skeptical at first as a girl with hips, but they were on every rack. And now they’re over – another fickle trend to put or give away…OR NOT! I’ve got a solution for how to keep wearing these tops while hiding the out-of-style peplum part – just grab a pleated skirt, and let’s get started!

VINTAGE PINK COAT

My sister recently sent me this vintage coat that she’d received as a gift some time ago. It was time for it to find a new home, and mine was the perfect place – I just love it! I usually focus on my outfit, but today I’m focusing on this gorgeous outerwear. The color, the texture, the buttons, the fit, the details – they really make this a statement piece unto itself.

PUNK BALLERINA – WHO SAYS YOU CAN’T WEAR A TUTU …

I recently read an article about the items a gal should stop wearing after 30. Among those were tutu skirts. Sorry folks, but I refuse to be told what to wear and not wear. Wearing a tutu is one of life’s pleasures, and so is rebelling against rules – especially unnecessary ones. In honor of my inner badass, I’ve chosen to be the punkiest ballerina I can.

WINTER DRESS UP IDEAS – LET IT SNOW

Sometimes, wearing your snow gear is unavoidable, especially when it snows in Chicago. The slush will ruin your favorite shoes and the temps are too low to bare anything at all. So, in this episode of my winter dress up series, I’m embracing the snow boots, the chunky sweaters and the wool hats by layering up and making them part of my going out look. Seriously!

WINTER DRESS UP IDEAS – SHORT SKIRT + SWEATER

Onward with my winter dress up series! We’ve explored a tight dress with a long hem and sleeves, but what if we go in the other direction and try a short skirt and bare shoulders?! I think there’s a way to WARMLY rock the look with heavy fabrics, a boat neck and a waist-cinching belt.

DELUXE POST: WINTER DRESS UP IDEAS – LONG-SLEEVE DRESS + OUTERWEAR

Dressing up for a night on the town in winter feels next to impossible. It’s cold, and you don’t want to look like a freezing idiot with inappropriately bare legs and arms. At the same time, you don’t want to feel frumpy either.
