NEVER LET THEM SEE YOU SWEAT

How does one follow up the two most real and passionate posts she’s ever written? By writing about more topics she’s passionate about. Like sweat. That’s right, today I’m addressing the fact that women sweat, especially Italian women like me. For years it impacted what I wore. Collared button-down shirts? Forget it. Satin and silk tops of any kind? Nope. I’d sweat right through them in two seconds with giant stains that were impossible to hide. It was one of the most embarrassing and least feminine things ever, and the world around me could see it.

    NOT SORRY

Overwhelmed would be the only word to describe how I feel from the immense response I’ve received to my Fat Bitch post. I had so much anxiety about hitting “Publish”, and I was sorry the second I did – sorry I made myself vulnerable; sorry I showed my scary side that was quick to yell and scream at a person; sorry I was passionate and unbuttoned – something I’ve been reluctant to do so far on Belle Meets World.

TODAY A MAN CALLED ME A FAT B*!#%

Today, a man called me a Fat Bitch. I hope I won’t offend my parents, my readers, or my co-workers in the use of strong language in such a public forum, but if I use symbols to signify the words I mean each time, we’ll all be distracted from what I really have to say. And I really need to say it. If curse words offend you, please stop here.

NEW BEAUTY PRODUCTS – THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE WTF?!

The best part about a blogger event is the goodie bag – that’s where I find all the latest and greatest new things to try and learn about. Sometimes I even get things sent to me in the mail to try – what a treat! In one of these fun bundles of joy I opened recently, I stumbled across a new beauty product so disturbing that I had to try it and write about it  – that’s the WTF?! of this post. I’ve also tried a few new products that I absolutely loved (‘the good’) and one that was rather disappointing (the bad). Let’s talk about them today!

FEELIN’ GROOVY: DENIM ON DENIM + A 70s FLAIR

Friends! I took a hiatus from posting for just over a week, and it felt great! I needed a little time to myself but I’m back and ready for all the style and beauty adventures fall has to offer us. Let’s start with my new favorite outfit that I can’t stop wearing. I put this together for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner, when I wanted to look casual and cute with a touch of the fall trends that I’m loving – like denim on denim + a 70s flair to everything.

SAVE THE DAY WITH MORNING RITUALS

Confession – I often find myself with the Sunday blues, feeling anxious and agitated about the week ahead. Work has been pretty stressful lately, making my weekends oh so precious and my weeks oh so long. I simply can’t afford to spend an entire day of my valuable weekend time feeling sad and worried! Instead, what I can do is take steps to increase my confidence that I can wake up on Monday (and everyday) and kill it at my day job while also enjoying my down time. The key to doing this lies in my morning rituals – just a few sacred moments and practices each day that allow me to set myself and my day up for success.
